Our client approached us to develop a name and packaging for a super premium gin. It was to be a revival of an original 1870s recipe they had unearthed in the Bristol Archives. In authentic “Bristol fashion” eight botanicals are individually distilled and then rested before being blended. Explaining this labourious process as well as highlighting the quality of the botanicals was a key part of our brief. Our solution was a removable outer wrap that explained both the process and the botanicals as well as doubled as a gift presentation. To reflect the Victorian era of the recipe the illustration was inspired by the famous designer William Morris.
