“I grew up being taught the importance of sustainability; from recycling, turning off the lights when we leave a room, mending clothes before buying new ones and being mindful of how much water we use doing the washing up. My grandparents were part of the war generation and so avoiding waste and making the most of what we have was deeply ingrained to our family. Today that mindset influences not only what I can do in my day-to-day but who I bank with, who supplies my energy and even who my Superannuation is with.
I think so often people look at sustainability as this enormous anxiety-inducing subject that can easily fall into the ‘too hard’ basket, but there are so many ways we can all make a difference. That’s how I approach sustainability both in my life and in my work, and as part of the Futureproof team I bring that same enthusiasm to our clients’ businesses. We all need to feel encouraged and empowered with the knowledge and tools to make a positive impact on our world because the urgency to create that change really cannot be understated.”
