The design takes its cue from the post-pandemic consumer need to try different things and find a renewed sense of fun. Using children’s interactive flip books that create new characters by turning different sections of the page as inspiration, and satirically interpreting the many faces on Teams, Zoom and Google Meet during the pandemic, Second Glance’s rebellious characters were born.
From a lusty she-devil for the Chilled Red to a mad scientist with his ‘pet’ genius monkey for the Pet Nat, each character combination is based on each wine style and varietal – reinforced by different colour and typographic approaches for each wine’s personality.
The result is bright, irreverent and humorous, allowing the bottles to sit disruptively on the shelves with ‘joyful weirdness’.
